Steve Skills was founded by Bernard & Caroline Van Steenberge, brother and sister with complementary skills. Bernard is Head of Business, Caroline leads Marketing.
Bernard holds a Master of Laws from UGent and an MBA from Solvay Business School. He built deep expertise through several leadership roles at an international recruitment and selection firm in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Caroline holds a Master in Art Sciences from KU Leuven and has a professional background in art insurance, together with first entrepreneurial experience in e-commerce.

Steve Skills is an independent legal recruitment boutique in BeLux, founded by a brother and sister with complementary skillsets. We specialise in private practice and in-house, for permanent, interim and executive search mandates. Our recruitment consultants are all legally trained, often with experience in a law firm, as in-house counsel or as legal freelancers. We are a niche player for niche people.
Steve Skills was born out of a frustration: ordering a package online often delivers a better experience than niche recruitment. We combine the best of both worlds. The frictionless e-commerce experience handles the administrative side, so our consultants can focus on what matters: "executive search for all": the premium treatment previously reserved for C-level profiles, now available to everyone.

Steve Skills provides legal recruitment services for lawyers and law firms, as well as for legal counsel and in-house teams, in the form of permanent recruitment, interim management (legal freelancers) and executive search.
In private practice, we work with niche and boutique firms as well as large national, international and Magic Circle firms. In-house, we serve scale-ups through to multinationals, across sectors including financial services, tech, pharma, energy, private equity, family offices and real estate.
We guide the entire journey, from the first intake through to post-onboarding.
We position ourselves as a strategic recruitment partner: we advise candidates on their career path, and support law firms and in-house departments in defining profiles based on their needs. As an external expert, we bring an objective, informed perspective and help bring clarity.
We take the burden off candidates and clients through a combination of the best of e-commerce for a frictionless experience, and executive search for a premium, tailor-made service.
